We are accredited with ISO14001 the International Environmental Management Standard and take our responsiblities seriously. By weight we recycle 98% of our waste. Below gives an insight into the approach we use.
Our Environmental Policy is to use processes and source raw materials
that minimise the creation of waste and therefore potential damage to
the environment. Specifically the following objectives are set:
1. PAPER WASTE CREATED.
Minimise the creation of paper waste at all times by:
a.) Optimising the product design.
b.) Ensuring correctly maintained machines.
c.) Eliminating bad quality.
Recycling paper waste.
a.) Ensure all waste is graded to gain "best advantage"
from recycling.
2. PROCESS CONSUMABLES.
Only biodegradeable and environmentally friendly products are used. Any
waste created by the processes themselves is stored for collection by
our chosen waste re-processors.
3. INCOMING PACKAGING.
Minimise the creation of waste wherever possible by:
a.) Re-using packaging such as boxes, boards and pallets.
b.) Requesting suppliers to minimise their packaging.
c.) Recycle packaging back to the supplier for re-use.
4. OUTGOING PACKAGING.
Minimise the use of packaging (especially new packaging) by:-
a.) Re-using pallets, boxes and boards.
b.) Requesting customers to return re-usable packaging.
5. PURCHASING POLICY.
Our policy in regards to sourcing, is to ensure we use environmentally
friendly products and
processes and that what waste is created is physically capable of being
recycled or reprocessed.
For example, all papers sourced by the Company are to be fsc papers
from European Mills, supplied on pallets made from wood from sustainable
forests, that are capable of re-use or recycling.
This policy is also communicated to our customers who supply their
own materials to us.
